This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Well, last weekend we moved house... I hate moving so damn much! I can't begin to explain my hatred for cardboard packing boxes right now... I did get to drive around in a big van for a few hours though. And our new place is amazing.
Still.. lots of unpacking to do.. maybe in a few weeks I'll get out with the camera again.. fingers crossed!
Thanks again for your help with Stormy sky, and for your comment and the fav on Ever Changing Sky 3 - had some good days weather wise, so been out and about with the camera a lot this last week - that picture was one of dozens I snapped whilst picnicking there, with the family - I loved the way the sky was reflected and how it changed every few minutes.
Going to be hard for me to get out over the next week or so, and I know I'll be frustrated at getting no photo-taking time - a friend is getting married on Sat, and has asked me to do the photo's - I have done a wedding before, and I know full well, I'll be spending a lot of time editing over the following couple of weeks, and won't have time for any trips with the camera Still, its all experience, I guess, and I'll learn that little bit more, so can't complain, lol.
OK - I THINK I have it right, lol - resized it in photoshop, then edited it on here and set size to the width dimension 1280px...........managed to just change the image on the last upload of it I did, rather than upload as a new pic yet again
Right - tried to edit it, and now when I click on full view, image dimensions are 3250 x 2430, and the pic comes up HUGE on full view - so now I'm thinking, have I gone too far, LMAO!
Again - really appreciate your help - sorry I'm so slow in getting it right!
OK, opened it in Photoshop, and saved for web - its now 3.34 megabytes, as opposed to the 1.42 of before.............will try uploading it to DA again, and go for the full view.
Hehe, it's ok Looks like your last attempt is still 600×449 and I'm pretty sure that it's DevArt doing this when you're submitting the image. I haven't uploaded anything in a while but I'm sure after you upload a picture (but before you submit it) you can choose the Full View resolution and one of the options is "Do not change" or something like that.
Thanks for the favAnd thank you for the comment - Have tried to upload a bigger image - hope I've done it right, lol -if not, feel free to give me idiot proof step by step instructions - I'm not too cleaver technically, so all help is very welcome, lol
Looks like you've almost got it, though the 3rd attempt version is at 3250×2430 which is the original size straight off the camera It's my bad, for some reason I thought that you could resize the image in the Save for Web option.
What you need to do is change the image size in Photoshop before doing the Save for Web, you can do this under the Image menu at the top, and then choosing Image Size. You can change the image width/height in pixels here, I usually use 1280x1024 for my pics when submitting to websites.
Sorry for not mentioning this before, don't have Photoshop at work so it's hard to memorise everything!
Looks like it's still the same res to me (600×449). What res is the original? When you upload a file to DevArt I think there's an option called "Full View" or something where you can choose what the full resolution of an uploaded image is (by default I think it optimises most images to a lower res than the original - if you've been shooting in RAW mode on the camera then resolutions will be very high indeed).
I use Photoshop to process my images, then use the Save For Web function to convert them to JPEG and a sensible resolution (usually 1280x1024 or 1024x768 for DevArt).
